MCLAREN HISTORY
1963
McLaren Automotive is a car-manufacturing branch of the famous British motorsports team McLaren Formula 1, which specializes in production of luxury sports vehicles. It was founded in 1963 by a New Zealand racing driver Bruce McLaren and an American entrepreneur Teddy Mayer. The new enterprise was registered under the name of Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd.

The founder of the McLaren team, Bruce McLaren, tragically died in 1970 at the age of 32 in a car accident.

McLaren is primarily a Formula 1 team with a long and rich history. It is the second oldest active Formula 1 team after Ferrari. Team McLaren had some of the greatest racers, including Lauda, Prost, Hunt and Hakinnen.
1989
In 1989, McLaren began to develop road legal vehicles and in 1993, the first model was constructed under the name of McLaren F1. As the name implies, this vehicle incorporated many F1 technologies.
1995
In 1995, McLaren F1 achieved its first success in motorsports, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the first attempt. Three other McLaren F1s took the third, fourth and fifth places.

The McLaren MP4-12C supercar has many interesting design features. It is the first production car wholly designed and built by McLaren. Previously, the company cooperated with BMW and Mercedes to make McLaren F1 and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren respectively.

MCLAREN SERVICE INTERVAL
Recommended factory scheduled maintenance service interval (FSM) for your McLaren (as per McLaren).
- For all models, the recommended FSM is extended to once a year or every 10,000 miles.
Recommended Ürolube scheduled maintenance (ÜSM) for your McLaren (as per Ürolube).
- On all models, the recommended ÜSM interval is once a year or every 6000 miles, whichever comes first. USM’s recommended intervals are based on weather and traffic conditions frequently found in the Miami area. High traffic and long idling causes wear on your engine oil not accounted for on your vehicle’s odometer. As a shop owner, I stress the importance of servicing your vehicle more frequently than the manufacturer recommendation because I have seen firsthand what waiting for 10,000 miles does to the vehicle’s engine. Always listen to your vehicle if a service required message is displayed sooner than the USM recommended 6,000 miles.
